A
reflection on
the Gospel for
St. Peter and
St.
Paul
|
|
We are
always
interested in
knowing what
others think
about us. Our
children, even
if they
dont say
it, care a lot
about what we
think of them,
since it is
precisely what
will form their
identity. Who
am I? If we
respond to them
with gestures
or actions,
which
communicate
that they are
useless or
inept. We
sometimes do
this
unconsciously
by not trusting
their ability
to do
something,
humiliating
them over
something they
have done or
ignoring their
dreams. We can
also
communicate a
very different
image to our
children
through
respect,
honestly, trust
and support.
Peter and Paul
meet Jesus at
different times
and it is then
that the Lord
tells them who
they are in
reality. Jesus
did not
recriminate
them because of
their defects,
instead he
entrusts them
with his church
and mission. In
being
recognized by
Christ they
found their
true identity.
Christ changes
our name and
informs us of
our real
identity but
first we must
come to
recognize him.
That way,
renewed and
recognized our
own identity,
we become the
Body of Christ,
the
church.

Una
reflexión
sobre el
Evangelio del
Domingo de San
Pedro y San
Pablo
|
|
A todos
nos interesa
bastante saber
lo que otras
personas
piensan de
nosotros. A
nuestros hijos,
aunque no lo
digan, les
importa mucho
lo que pensamos
de ellos, ya
que es esto
precisamente lo
que va formando
su indentidad.
¿Quién
soy? Si damos
la respuesta
con palabras,
gestos o
acciones que
les comunican
que pensamos
que son
inútiles,
incapaces e
incapaces. Esto
lo hacemos a
veces
inconscientemente,
desconfiando de
que puedan
hacer algo, o
avergonzádolos
sobre algo que
han hecho, o
ignorando sus
sueños.
También
les podemos
comunicar una
imagen muy
distinta a
través
de nuestro
respeto,
honestidad,
confianza y
apoyo. Pedro y
Pablo, en
distintos
momentos
reconocen a
Jesús.
Es entonces
cuando
Jesús
les dice a
ellos
quiíenes
son de verdad.
Es Jesús
quien no los
recrimina por
sus defectos,
sino que les
confía
su iglesia y su
misión.
Al ser
identificados
por Cristo,
encuentran su
verdadera
idetidad. Pero
tendremos que
reconocerle
primero.
Así,
renovados y
reconociendo
nuestra
identidad, nos
convertimos en
Cuerpo de
Cristo,
Iglesia.

El que

La division y la
espada: Jesus entendia poco de propaganda.
Los politicos, las firmas comerciales y la
compañias internacionales lo
entienden de otra manera. Todo consiste en
prometer, halagar, prodigar elogios y
faciles promesas. Menos horas laborales,
subida de pensiones, empleo, nivel de
vida, etc. Jesus no hace faciles
promesasas ni concesiones, solo hace una
gran promesa: la del resultado final de
nuestra vida. Para llegar a El hay que
disponerse al sacrficio, al esfuerzo, a la
renuncia. En ninguna parte se dice que el
programa de Jesus sea facil. Aunque si se
asegura que es gratificante y en algunos
casos desconcertantes. Cualquier Cristiano
The
one that does not carry his cross and
follows me, is not worthy of
me
The division and
the sword: Jesus understood some of the
advertisement. The politicians, the
commercial signatures, and the
internacional companies, they undertood it
differently. It all consist of making
promises, show off, and false promises.
Less work hours, raise the pensions, more
jobs, cost of living, etc. Jesus does not
make false promises, he only makes one big
promise: the one that will result in
living for ever. But to get there you have
to make sacrificeses. No where does it say
that Jesus program is easy. But it does
assures us gratification. Any cristian
familiar with the gospel knows that Jesus
is an author, predictor, and recommends
peace. He looks for a great unity with all
the redeemers to offer them to our Father.
Today he talks about division and the
sword. See how there is
contradiccion?
